The Police Association of Lafayette is a non-profit organization made up of members of the Lafayette Police Department.
Our focus is on supporting our community and members in need. Last year our agency suffered the tragic loss of a police officer in the line of duty and had several more injured. The year prior another officer was shot and faced a debilitating injury which required her having to learn to walk again. And a year prior to that another officer was run over and drug by the vehicle he was trying to prevent from crashing into a crowd of people.
These tragic situations represent the dangers of the job, but they also highlight the need for organizations like the Police Association of Lafayette who are willing to assist the officers and families of those injured or killed in the line of duty.
The Police Association of Lafayette also participates in community events, such as: Trunk-R-Treats, Back to School Supply Donations, Christmas gifts for hospitalized children, and so much more.
