The Eddie Lowery Off The Deep End Podcast was created to begin breaking down the boundaries that separate us by discussing our obstacles and sharing stories of triumph over tribulations.

This year for the Annual Fundraiser, we will be expanding to multiple locations annually for the Squats for Soldiers fundraiser. Since 2022, the annual fundraiser has been dedicated to an organization that has a significant impact on the wellbeing of Veterans. The organization Merging Vets and Players has been chosen as the 2024 recipient. The goal for this fundraiser is not just to support those who support our nation's heroes, but to raise awareness and normalize conversations surrounding the mental aspect of returning from deployments.

HOW IT WORKS:  From September 9th - November 11th 2024, Gyms will be hosting squat competitions to bring the communities together. In addition, multiple volunteers will be performing 1 Squat per Dollar donated and contributing to the online campaign by sharing videos via social media. Previously we raised over $5,455 and now we are very excited to knock that number out of the park.

All proceeds from the efforts will be donated directly to Merging Vets and Players (MVP), a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was founded in 2015 by Jay Glazer and Nate Boyer to address the similar challenges that veterans and former professional athletes face when the uniform comes off. In creating a new team, MVP works to help them find new purpose, meaning, and identity as they face the challenges head-on together rather than alone. By staying connected beyond the weekly peer support sessions through various events, communication, and trusted resources, members experience an ecosystem of support.

This is extremely personal after our host and many guests losing brothers and sisters in uniform to battling mental health. All contributions are aimed at raising awareness and funds to prevent death by suicide and to promote whole health practices among our Nation's heroes. For many, the longest mission begins after the uniform comes off.
