My name is Awad Abu. I am an elderly grandfather in Gaza, struggling to care for my two young grandchildren after they were orphaned in a missile strike.Â
Awad is just 4 years old, and Rahaf is only 5. In a single moment, they lost their parents, their home, and the safety every child deserves.Â
Now, they only have me. I am in poor health and unable to work. We live in a torn, fragile tent that barely protects us from the elements.Â
Every day is a struggle just to stay alive.
 What We Urgently Need Food:Â
Daily meals, bread, rice, canned goods, and basic nutrition to keep my children from going hungryÂ
Clean Water: Safe drinking water for everyday survivalÂ
Shelter: A stronger, more durable tent or materials to protect us from extreme heat and coldÂ
Clothing: Warm clothes and blankets for winter, and light clothing for the summer heat MedicalÂ
Care: Treatment and medicine for me , and basic healthcare for my my grandchildren.
Hygiene Supplies: Soap, sanitary items, diapers, and cleaning essentials to stay healthy
Â
Cooking Supplies: Fuel, utensils, and simple equipment to prepare food when it’s availableÂ
Education Support: Basic learning materials so my children, especially my youngest, canÂ
continue their educationÂ
Financial Support: Help covering daily survival costs and urgent needs as they arise
These are not luxuries—they are the bare minimum for survival.Â
They have already lost everything. Please don’t let them lose their future too. Any support, no matter how small, could help keep them alive.Â

For many years, I’ve supported international organizations that provide humanitarian aid, help children and mothers, and assist families displaced by war. Since last year, I’ve been personally helping families in Gaza, witnessing firsthand the extreme challenges they face every day.
