Operation: Happy Camper
We’re so excited to launch one of our most impactful fundraising campaigns to date: Operation Happy Camper!
The Basics
We are raising money—and seeking out corporate sponsorship—for an official K9 Conservationists’ RV or campervan.
Our team will benefit hugely from owning our own vehicle: housing that we can bring to our field site will promote recovery, safety, and comfort for our teams.
A Special Community Opportunity
We also recognize that, at this time, there are so many worthy and important causes that deserve funding. Our hearts are heavy hearing about how recent ICE/CBP raids in Minnesota have forced many families to be separated from their dogs (and other pets). Because of this, we are contributing 50% of the funds raised in February to The Bond Between, a Twin Cities non-profit organization that helps connect community members to local support, including a foster program where dogs can be hosted for up to 90 days at no cost, with the goal to help families and their pets reunite as much as possible.
And as an extra cool thank you, anyone who donates $10 or more to Operation Happy Camper will receive a free set of 10 odor dynamics animations. After you donate, you’ll be emailed a downloadable link.
Additional Operation Happy Camper Details
As you might imagine, housing on often remote, months-long field projects can be limited or inadequate to house both our people and our dogs; rental properties are often expensive and located far from our field site. Our handlers have stayed for weeks in rentals without adequate kitchens or safe spaces to exercise our dogs.
Ultimately, a vehicle of our own allows us to have long-term, flexible, and dependable housing that will save us a significant amount of money over time. A camping-capable vehicle will also guarantee our handlers and dogs have what they need to have safe and dependable housing on field projects.
