Operation Agape is the Now & Later Effect's latest initiative...
and let me tell ya, it's a major one!
This latest voting season we partnered with Agape Candles to bring "It's the Voting for Me" (an initiative to combat voter suppression) to the streets of New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX. After much thought, we realized that "Agape" love (loving a person despite his or her flaws or shortcomings, giving to others, sacrificing time, energy and resources for someone else without expecting anything in return) is EXACTLY what the Now & Later Effect is about. Known as the highest form of love, Agape love is all about love in action and it is the perfect name for an initiative that will no doubt carry us into the next season of doing our part to help end homelessness.
Operation Agape is an ongoing fundraiser that runs December 1, 2020 - December 2021 and we have a major goal to raise funds to cover many of the expenses for regular programming and operational costs. Our plans for regular programming include everything from distributing warm meals and amenities to compiling a resource book with details on where programs vital to rehabilitation and/or survival (and thriving!) can be found. We are also taking our branding and marketing up a notch to increase visibility/knowledge of our program. We are in for A LOT of work but we're ready!! We're about to create some serious shifts of change in our communities, honey, and we are relying on your support.
We are asking that our supporters commit to recurring monthly donations of $10 or more (or one lump sum of an annual total) to help us make these major goals less daunting. Yes!, for the price of a Burrito bowl (with guac) at Chipotle or a Superior Grill Margarita (Yum!) you can help us make this major shift a reality for our nonprofit but more importantly, for the increasing number of unhoused families. With that being said, we certainly realize the state of our economy and the effects COVID-19 has had on so many of us... please only give if you can and please know that whatever you can contribute will absolutely help us with this push.
