The weight of service doesn’t end when the mission does. For many veterans and first responders, the transition back to everyday life can bring stress, isolation, and challenges that continue long after service.
10 Klicks Outdoors exists to bring veterans, first responders, and their families into outdoor education programs built around hands-on instruction, mentorship, and time together in the outdoors.
Through these programs, participants learn hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor safety skills in a family-centered setting designed to build confidence, connection, and time together outside of daily pressures.
For some, it’s a parent and child learning a new skill together. For others, it’s veterans or first responders meeting people who understand their experiences and building connection through time outdoors.
Right now, more than 80 veterans and first responders are on a growing waitlist.
They’ve signed up. They’re ready. They are waiting for their turn to take part in a fall program.
Operation 40 is our effort to serve 40 veterans, first responders, and their families this fall.
We are raising $40,000 to make these outdoor education programs possible. Every dollar raised directly supports instruction, equipment, transportation, lodging, meals, and program costs that allow participants to safely take part.
We have a deadline of August 1. Funds raised before this date determine how many individuals we are able to serve in the fall.
