On the 20th of October 2022 Mike Wilson died after a short battle with adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), he was only 56 years old.
ACC is a rare aggressive cancer that affects about one in a million people per year. ACC is an orphan disease, which makes it difficult to obtain a diagnosis, there are limited treatment options, little research being done on ACC, the treatment for ACC has not changed in decades, and there are very few experts available for consultation. Due to these facts, ACC has a very poor prognosis.
One in a Million has been established in honor of Mike Wilson's legacy. The purpose is to raise awareness of ACC. Funds raised will go towards much needed research into ACC and to help other families affected by ACC.
