As The River Jam leg of the Mission on Main Street comes to a close, I wanted to post an update of my own fitness challenge. We had a ton of fun at the event:

While we were hoping to raise a third of our $15,000 goal by the 5th of September, we still have 2 more events to go. There is still time to get in on this event...so please consider a donation and be sure to share our cause on social media. These funds are critical to continue the great work done by our local Maine chapter.
I did surpass my personal goal of 250,000 meters:
As you can see, this was a goal for a combined effort including rowing, paddling and cycling. Both cycling and paddling numbers are adjusted for degree of difficulty and converted to meters. For details you can learn more at: https://oarsofhope.org/getinvolved/mission-on-main-street/
Basically....you design your own challenge to reflect your interests and goals. You get a page like this and can set a challenge to do 10,000 steps a day for 10 days, row a thousand meters a day for 2 weeks or walk a mile a day for 30 days etc.
Join us and share your progress here...and on social media as we row, walk, run, cycle and paddle our way to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, support and care!
OK... I decided to expand my personal challenge to 21 days and 250K meters!!!!
We are up over $1600...which is awesome (Thank you to all who have donated!...YOU ARE making a difference!) but, we still a long ways to go. We were targeting $5,000 by the end of this campaign-the 1st of 3 Mission on Main Street (MOMS) events this fall.
We need YOUR help to reach this goal.
My Mission on Main Street activity log:
The fitness challenge is on track - to crush thequater million meter mark...and with your support- we can make a big difference in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's.
I row, paddle and cycle in memory of, and to honor those affected by Alzheimer's.
Join me...and together, we CAN make a difference!
Hello Oars of Hope Suporters!
We kicked off our Mission on Main Street campaign in style at The River Jam in Biddeford, Maine. Our neighbors at the event, The Maine Spa Club...among many others, helped us hit 21,000 meters (a half century) for the day.
I am committing to doing 100,000 meters (avg. 10,000 meters /day-inlcuding Rowing, Cycling and Kayaking equivalents) over 10 days to raise funds for Alzheimer's research, support and care.
Our goal for this event is $5000. Half way there I'm a bit behind the eight ball:
Rowing: 25,000 meters
Cycling: 10,000 meters equivalent (20 miles)
Paddling: 10,000 meters equivalent (6.8 Miles)
For a total of 45,000 meters at the halfway point.
So far, we have raised a bit over $1,000. So, I have to get my butt in gear....and I hope that this will inspire others to join me and/or sponsor or donate to help us reach our goal.
