Women, non-binary, and trans directors who courageously share their stories. Creators from all backgrounds, religions, sexualities and identities whose work humanizes their experience and proves their voices aren’t only important, but necessary. Filmmakers who boldly imagine a more equitable future for us all.
Film Fatales is here to make sure marginalized voices in film are heard, and we need your help.
Film Fatales is a 501(c)3 community arts organization and talent discovery platform dedicated to improving the careers of filmmakers of all marginalized genders through advocacy, community building, and artist development services. We support a membership community of over two thousand feature film and television directors of all marginalized genders.
This year has been hard for non-profits. We, alongside many similar organizations, lost our funding from the NEA and are struggling to find replacement grants. Corporations are quietly shuttering initiatives supporting underrepresented voices and pulling back from sponsorships and partnerships with organizations devoted to that work.
That’s why we need your help. Your tax-deductible donation will help us sustain our efforts in breaking down systemic inequities in the film industry and creating tangible change in a time when the world needs to hear from traditionally sidelined creators the most.

More About Our Methods
In a film industry where non-binary and/or trans perspectives are vastly underrepresented and women directors of all backgrounds have accounted for less than 5% of the top grossing films over the past 13 years, Film Fatales provides a structure that enables underrepresented creators to get their films made and seen.
Film Fatales advocates for hiring equality and inclusive programming practices by working with key decision makers to expand the talent pool and raise the visibility of underrepresented creators. We take an intersectional and action-oriented approach, which includes hosting a weekly Speaker Series of panel discussions and workshops; amplifying the work of underserved filmmakers in our Streaming Library; and functioning as a talent discovery platform for marginalized voices. We provide Hollywood gatekeepers a clear path to inclusive programming and hiring equality. Through our efforts, scores of emerging and mid-career directors have been hired for directing jobs, received funding, and screened their work at significant film festivals and theaters worldwide.
