THE OPPORTUNITY
Music Tech Fellowship transforms musical passion into digital power—teaching coding, blockchain, and innovation skills to talented people in underinvested communities.
WHAT HAPPENS
3-Month Program Timeline:
Month 1: Six community fellows learn Python programming through music creation in intensive workshops
Months 2-3: Top fellows teach weekly community jam sessions, spreading knowledge through networks
Finale: Public showcase celebrating community innovation and new tech skills
WHY IT WORKS
Traditional tech training feels disconnected from community life. Our approach builds on what people already love—music—to make technology immediately relevant and accessible.
"I was surprised to learn how easy coding music would be... I already made plans to teach a few friends how to use it." - Program Participant
PROGRAM LEADERSHIP
NoMa Community Center hosts the program with 7+ years of community-building experience and partnerships with 10+ local agencies. Expert instruction provided by Zaun Marshburn (3-decade music career) and Xanthe Matychak (design educator, MIT/White House speaker).
Ready to invest in community-led innovation? Your contribution helps create lasting change by giving community members the tools to understand and shape technology, not just consume it.
