Sass Member Registration
Membership Information
Sass is a queer and trans-centered, member-supported arts and social club dedicated to providing and promoting safer spaces for trans folks and allies to gather. Sass hosts a variety of community events, including club nights, movie screenings, performance art, and more. Becoming a member sets your intention to co-create the space, assume responsibility for the energy, and act as a node for organic word-of-mouth growth of the sass collective. Membership grants you access to members-only events. We’re a 501c7 non-profit, volunteer-run social club. That means everything that comes into this space is an investment to grow it for our own enjoyment as members. Anything members put in -- volunteering for a door shift, contributing monthly, or just tipping well and paying the door cover -- furthers our mission.
Member Agreements
- Zero tolerance for violence, racism, transphobia, ablism, sexism or other discriminatory language or actions.
- Practice good consent. Remember that if you want to touch another guest or someone who is volunteering, ask first if it’s okay.
- Please do not use your cell phone or take photos while on the dancefloor or in the audience at a Sass event. If you need to use your phone for any purpose, just step away to the bar or another area in the space.
- Minimize conversations on the dance floor or near performers to help us keep the space for people who really want to dance or hear the music. If you want to have a long chat with friends, please do so in our side yard.
- Practice discretion when inviting guests (i.e. not someone you just met or someone you wouldn't vouch for).
- Please hang out in our side yard rather than in front of the building, out of consideration for our neighbors and to help us keep our space discreet.
- Respect the neighborhood and neighbors!
- Respect the staff/volunteers!
