The number of people experiencing homelessness in San Diego today is at an all-time high, including over 20,000 children and youth in our public schools countywide.
The New Beginnings Fund for Unhoused Youth was created in 2023 to help remove barriers to student success by providing scholarships and ongoing support as they pursue college, continuing education and job preparation. On June 1st, we awarded our first four $5,000 scholarships and launched the New Beginnings Scholars Program to support their journey through postsecondary education!
You can help support our scholars!!
Help us raise $7,500 so that we can provide our students with the following items:
- New Beginnings Scholarship Fund (NBSF) t-shirt, sweatshirt, and hat
- Bus passes ($100 for monthly bus pass for one youth)
- Meal/gift cards (Target, Walmart, Starbucks, 7-11, McDonalds)
- School related supplies (laptops, books, backpacks, etc.)
- Scholar Grants (students can apply for money to cover costs of certain extra-curricular/school/social activities)
Your support can change the trajectory of a young person's life! Help us be the change that sets youth experiencing homelessness on the path towards a brighter future.
