Thank you for stopping by! Friendsgiving is not only for the holidays but for any day you deem worthy of sharing and caring. We know you have a whole heap of causes and organizations near and dear to your heart. We’re just asking you to allow us to scoot on in too. So ScootAble? We like Scooting. What does that mean? Well it has many meanings. When we say it, we’re referring to moving on, forward or sliding over.
ScootAble is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to help women and men who have dependent children who are just starting out in their divorce process, journey or have become newly divorced. My dear sweet as pie friend of 20+ years went through divorce. It is a very personal journey but she shared her journey with me. We cried together and even laughed at times but during it all we decided to do something to help other families going through this major life changing event. Let us clear the air to say, we definitely believe in marriage, but also know that sometimes things don’t work out the way we hope and that's ok. It's ok to start and create a new beautiful chapter in life. Our goal is to provide comprehensive support, resources, and empowerment opportunities for the monumental distress, instability, and uncertainty divorce brings. We want to help our special families as they go through healing and starting new beginnings.
Divorce is hard enough, finding help shouldn’t be. If you have had a friend or seen from afar someone who has been through divorce, they will tell you how difficult it is on multiple levels but primarily emotional and financial. It can be a long lonely mile and journey in their shoes. We want to support them by letting them know, as difficult as divorce is to Scoot and move forward because they are able and worthy. We’re hoping that you would be a beacon of hope and light for them and their children.
