Needy Paws Animal Shelter | Enrichment Programs Fund

Across the U.S., animal shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with animals needing homes, and there does not seem to be an end in sight. The number of homeless pets that are turned away from shelters and rescues is tragic, but without more space, staffing, and resources, animal welfare organizations are not left with any choice but to refuse homeless animals in need. On top of that, too many animals who have made it into these shelters are just sitting and waiting to be adopted... the reality is that there are too many pets and not enough homes.

As these companion animals wait and wait, their minds can begin to deteriorate. They can become fearful, anxious, aggressive, or worse. The best way for a no-kill shelter to create better outcomes for these long-term residents is a robust enrichment program... and that's where Needy Paws Animal Shelter needs your support!

We would like to create a fund for enrichment programs. From treat-fillable toys to daycare, field trips, intensive training programs, and anywhere in-between.

These enrichment programs save lives, provide comfort, and allow our furry friends the opportunity to patiently wait for their new homes, and then THRIVE once they're adopted.

Needy Paws Animal Shelter (River Valley Humane Society) is the only brick-and-mortar, no-kill shelter in the Arkansas River Valley. Needy Paws has been providing sanctuary for sick, injured, homeless, and abused animals since 1997.
