Needy Paws Animal Shelter is more than just a shelter—it’s a place of hope, healing, and second chances for animals in need. We are emBARKing on a multi-phase project to improve our facilities and create a safer, more comfortable environment for the animals in our care. But we can’t do it without you!
Over the last two years, we have worked hard to make sure that the interior of the shelter is up-to-date and fully functional for our staff, visitors, and our animals. These little projects created a better experience all around, from door knobs to outdoor fencing, and a lot of "honey-do's" in-between.
Now that the little things are taken care of, we are digging into where it counts the most: air conditioned kennels. The Arkansas summer heat is almost UNBEARABLE in the kennels for our staff, the community, and especially for our dogs and puppies that don't get a break from the heat. This is not just a comfort issue, this is a safety issue; one our Board of Directors continues to take seriously.
Through a generous, end-of-life gift from the Andra Zach & Lowell Zach Living Trust, we were able to put this first major phase of improvement into motion, raising half the funds needed for Phase 1, which will fully enclose our dog kennel area and install an air conditioning system to keep our dogs cool and comfortable.
