Born and raised in Brooklyn, I am a proud first-generation Latina and the daughter of two hard-working Mexican immigrants. As early as I can remember, my parents instilled in me the value of education and the importance of seizing every opportunity that comes my way.
Through their unwavering support, I was able to pursue my college education on a scholarship and am now near graduating! Like many students, I entered with one career path in mind, but when my plans shifted, I felt uncertain about my next steps. That was when ALPFA became a crucial part of my journey.
ALPFA became more than just an organization for me. It became my community. It provided me with access to life-changing insights and opportunities like internships, but more importantly, it connected me with people who believed in me, mentored me, and helped me regain confidence in my future. It is the community of ALPFA that has truly made a difference in my trajectory.
For this reason, I am running with team ALPFA in this year's TCS NYC Marathon to help others benefit from the same support and empowerment I have received. As a first-generation Latina, it is meaningful to give back and help others in my community realize their potential and how much they can achieve.
Your support in any capacity is greatly appreciated!
