My wife, Lili Edwards, and I are requesting donations to purchase a columbarium niche for my parents, Hortencia "Orty" Edwards and Robert "Bob" Edwards. They have been cremated and their urns are currently at our church, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham (Catholic Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter) in Houston, Texas.
My mother passed away on December 20, 2025. Eighteen days later, on January 7, 2026, my mother-in-law, Nela Carcamo, passed away, followed two days later by my father-in-law, Jorge Carcamo. (My father passed away in 2019.)
In 2025, I was transitioning away from part-time Catholic news contracts, which resulted in irregular paychecks and made Advent and Christmastide especially difficult for our family finances.
Fortunately, I secured a position with a classical Catholic school, where I began work in the second week of January 2026.
We are still working our way out of a significant financial hole, but the unexpected loss of three parents during Advent and Christmastide has prevented us from securing a columbarium niche for my parents. (My wife’s parents have already been secured awhile back.)
A generous anonymous donor has already helped us substantially, but we remain $2,000 short of the amount needed for my parents’ columbarium niche. Prayers and donations would greatly assist us in covering this remaining balance.
