Water for Life Mobile Dental Clinic

 

We propose to build a mobile dental clinic and donate it to Water for Life.  We saw a definite need for dentistry in Guatemala along with a need for education of oral hygiene and care.  We would like to raise enough money to build the mobile clinic and have it well stocked and pay for a dentist and possibly an assistant for up to one year.   We would like to have the mobile clinic ready and easy for volunteer dentists from the US or Canada to step in and start working.  The great thing about this mobile clinic is that it can also serve as a medical clinic if there are medical professionals that volunteer.  We are actively looking for a vehicle that will work and all of the dental equipment needed.  We need to raise $50,000 in cash and/or donations in order to make this happen.   Below is a list of the things we will need.  We are looking for these items, but we will take anything you might have to offer.

The main services this mobile clinic will provide will be fillings, extractions and cleanings.  We want to provide as many teaching opportunities as possible.   If we can teach some preventive care and good oral hygiene habits from an early age, it can save lives in the future.  We will have this mobile clinic done December of 2023, and ready for service in February of 2024.  With this clinic we can offer services to many villagers that are unable to travel to the city for care and prevent illness and even deaths of children and adults.   

 

We are also looking for any dentists or assistants that may want to volunteer their time and talents to this mission.  We are looking for a dentist and assistant to work in this mobile clinic for a one year
