Nova, a beautiful girl who turns 2 on Halloween 2026, has been with her guardian since early 2025. As a young pup, she loves cuddling with her human, playing with her rope octopus, and being silly with any available blanket. BUT! Due to luxating patellas (loose kneecaps), Nova is unable to remain active for extended periods of time. This is challenging for both Nova and her owner - Nova is a mix of two highly active breeds, Pitbull and Dalmatian, so she is full of energy and desperately wants to move around and play! This restricted mobility also increases risk of obesity and other health-related complications. It is no exaggeration to say that this condition is significantly impacting Nova’s quality of life, and often makes her seem much older than she actually is. Surgery to address this issue is estimated at a price of nearly $6k, and while her guardian is saving to be able to afford this costly procedure, we have seen the results that community funding can achieve. PG Pet Unity Project has offered to share Nova’s story and fundraiser far and wide in the hopes that she will be able to live her life to fullest, kneecaps firmly in place, as soon as possible. Please consider helping this wonderful dog move forward to a healthy, active life!
