Support our campaign to move, rebuild, and sustain creative programming for Boston’s littlest artists.

What We’re Raising + Why It Matters
We’re raising $200,000 to help Minni transition into its next chapter with strength and stability. Your support will help us:

  • Relocate + build out a new creative studio
  • Fund scholarships + accessible programming
  • Sustain our team + community partnerships

We’ve partnered with Mobile Makers, a 501c3 nonprofit design education organization with programs in Boston and Chicago, to act as our fiscal sponsor. This means all donations are now tax-deductible—and we can begin applying for much-needed grants.

Why We’re Fundraising

This fall marks a major milestone for Minni. In early September, we successfully moved into our new Beacon Hill studio, consolidating our two former locations into one vibrant, creative home. The move represents more than a change of address—it’s an opportunity to rebuild a stronger, more sustainable foundation for Minni’s future.

Now, we’re continuing our fundraising campaign to cover the significant costs of this transition and ensure Minni’s long-term stability. Your support will help us:

• Complete payments for the buildout and essential studio setup

• Fund scholarships and keep our programs accessible to all families

• Sustain our small but mighty team and strengthen community partnerships

Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to keep our programs affordable while navigating the challenges of maintaining two spaces and responding to rising costs. With your help, we can move forward with confidence.

Your Support in Action

Every gift—big or small—helps bring creativity and connection to Boston’s children. Here’s how your support can make a direct impact:

• $500 funds a one-time workshop or public event at a local school or community site

• $1,000 provides materials and an honorarium for an artist-in-residence

• $2,500 covers full scholarships for five children to attend a week-long vacation program

• $5,000 supports an entire semester of free after-school programming for 30 students

What Is Minni?

Minni is a community-based studio offering art and design education to children ages 8 months to 10 years. We host classes and workshops in our own studios and out in the community—partnering with local schools, libraries, and cultural organizations to reach as many children as possible.

At Minni, we believe every child deserves the chance to explore their creativity through joyful, high-quality programming.

Our Impact
Since 2018, Minni has:

  • Served 7,000+ children through our art and design programs
  • Developed and refined over 500 original art + design lessons
  • Partnered with 30+ local schools, libraries, community organizations, and businesses
  • Hosted more than 100 free community events
  • Employed professional artists, designers, and educators in 100% of our programming

Our Next Chapter

With our new Beacon Hill studio now open and filled with creativity, we’re entering an exciting new era for Minni. This beautiful space brings together everything we’ve learned over the past six years—thoughtful design, accessible programming, and a welcoming environment where children can explore, create, and thrive.

As we settle into our new home, we’re focused on ensuring that Minni continues to grow sustainably. Your contributions make it possible for us to:

• Expand our art and design programs for children across Boston

• Offer scholarships and free community workshops

• Invest in our talented instructors and maintain high-quality materials and equipment

Together, we can strengthen Minni’s foundation and keep creativity thriving for Boston’s littlest artists—today and for years to come.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Kelly Harris Smith. I'm a designer, entrepreneur, author, and mom. I founded Minni in 2018 to make the kind of creative space I wanted for my own children—one that fosters imagination, confidence, and joy through thoughtful design education. As art and design programs continue to disappear from schools, Minni has become more than just a studio—it’s a vital resource for families and educators across Boston. This next chapter is both personal and purposeful, and I’m deeply grateful for your support as we work to sustain and grow our mission.
