Out of a record number of submissions this year (575+), Mija has been selected to join the 35th Annual Festival of New Musicals by The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT). With your generous support, we will be able to house the entire creative team, as well as our talented Adriana Ripley who will fly into NYC & finally be introduced to the Broadway & beyond community of Artistic directors and producers!
What we NEED:
We are seeking support to cover the cost of the modified arrangements and orchestrations we have to provide the band, in addition to our housing and a portion of our travel to and from NYC. We have found an Airbnb within a 20 minute Subway ride of our rehearsal studios (the famous Pearl Studios) where we will rehearse over a period of 10 days in mid-October. The festival will then ultimately present a 45-min selection of the show, twice, at the iconic New World Stages.
What NAMT provides:
NAMT is providing each writer with a stipend that will cover a portion of our food expenses while in NYC. They also provide an extensive amount of organizational & production support, in addition to hiring our Director, Music Director, 2 additional musicians and a cast of 10. They produce the festival which hosts upwards of over 1,000 industry professionals, and connect us with an invaluable amount of folx looking to produce new musical works! In short, this is VERY exciting opportunity for us and a HUGE step towards our journey to get Mija to Broadway.
