Children in the Philippines living in extreme poverty struggle to access basic necessities. Many families simply can’t afford food, water, or medical care.
Lexi is only 1 year old, and her family is living inside a waiting game no parent wants.
Lexi has encephalocele and hydrocephalus. In simple terms, it means she has a delicate lump that must be protected, and doctors are closely monitoring the size of her head while they wait for surgery. Lexi is already on the elective surgery list, #39 in line.
And here’s the part her mom can’t shake:
Lexi is doing well in many ways, she eats well, sleeps well, and moves around vigorously. But when Lexi’s hair pokes into her lump, she scratches it… and her mom’s heart stops. She shared her biggest fear: what if she scratches too hard and there’s a leak?
Her parents are doing everything they can, but the emotional and financial weight is heavy. Lexi’s father works as a topcoat painter, and his income is one of their only sources of support, just enough to keep the household going day to day while they keep returning for checkups and waiting for the call that moves Lexi forward.
Her mom holds on to hope through faith. She believes God will not abandon Lexi in this battle, and she is praying for a safe operation and a future where Lexi can stay the same sweet, cheerful, brave little girl she is now.
This fundraiser is to help support Lexi’s medical needs and care while she waits for surgery, including essential needs throughout her treatment journey.
If you want to help Lexi today, please donate. And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing Lexi’s story is also powerful, it helps it reach the people who can.
