At 12 years old, Ivan has already spent his life learning how to fight through pain most people could never imagine.
Ivan has cerebral palsy, a condition caused by an injury to the brain before or during birth that affects how the body controls movement. Despite the challenges he faces every day, Ivan continues to walk independently. But walking is not easy for him. He struggles with balance and coordination, tires quickly, and lives with constant muscle pain and severe spasticity that make even simple movements exhausting.
Still, Ivan refuses to give up.
He is a bright, kind-hearted boy with incredible determination. He loves spending time with his family, playing games, going outside, and discovering new things. He celebrates every small victory because he knows how hard he has worked for each one. Even through the pain, Ivan always tries to stay independent and keep moving forward.
But now, the pain has become too severe.
The muscle contractures and spasticity affecting both his upper and lower limbs are worsening, making it difficult for him to continue the therapies that help him maintain mobility and independence. Without intervention, his condition may continue to deteriorate.
Doctors are now recommending a surgery called fibrotomy of the affected muscles — a procedure designed to release the tight, damaged muscles causing his severe pain and limited movement.
This surgery could significantly reduce Ivan’s spasticity, relieve the constant pain in his body and legs, improve his balance and stability while walking, and help him squat and move more naturally. Most importantly, it could allow him to continue his therapy journey and give him a better chance at independence and self-sufficiency.
For Ivan, this surgery is freedom from pain. It is about being able to move without fear, to walk with more confidence, and to keep being the brave, joyful child he is.
Today, we are asking for your support to help give Ivan that chance.
Your donation will help cover the cost of Ivan’s surgery and bring him closer to a life with less pain, greater mobility, and renewed hope for the future. Please help us stand beside Ivan on this journey.
