Help Baby Gideon See the World Around Him

Gideon was born just a few months ago, and already his eyes have carried more struggle than most people face in a lifetime. He has hydrocephalus, fluid building pressure inside his tiny skull. His left eye is blind. His right eye, his only window to the world, has internal bleeding that threatens to take his sight completely.

His parents are young, just 21 and 22 years old, and still learning how to be parents while fighting for their son's life. His father works as a collector, earning around $130 a month. His mother, a housewife caring for Gideon full time, was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes during her pregnancy, adding another layer of risk to an already fragile situation.

There is no extra income. No savings. Just a family doing whatever it takes, including taking out a loan for his hospital admission, to keep their son alive and give him a chance.

Every day without surgery is a day closer to losing his remaining sight for good. This is not a distant concern. It is happening now, to a baby who has barely had the chance to open his eyes and see his parents' faces clearly.

Surgery could relieve the pressure building inside his head and protect the vision he has left. It could mean the difference between Gideon growing up able to see the people who love him, or growing up in darkness.

He is only a few months old. He should be discovering the world, not fighting to keep his sight.

Your gift can help Gideon see. Donate today and be part of the reason he gets the surgery that could save his vision.
