Children in the Philippines living in extreme poverty struggle to access basic necessities. Many families simply can’t afford food, water, or medical care.
In one family, two brothers are fighting very different battles.
Caleb is 1 year old. Theo is 7 years old.
Caleb was born with multiple congenital anomalies affecting almost every internal organ. He lives with a colostomy bag and a catheter, and his mother watches every change with fear. Recently, she found blood in his urine. He has been fighting infections, and at times, he becomes too weak to eat more than bread.
Caleb is a miracle baby, but keeping him stable requires supplies his family cannot afford: colostomy bags, catheters, specialized milk, vitamins, and basic daily care.
His mother was supposed to have heart surgery herself. But she couldn’t leave him.
While Caleb fights to stay stable, his older brother Theo is also struggling.
Theo lives with Autism and intellectual impairment and needs substantial support every day. Behind a closed door, he jumps, screams, laughs, and releases the energy his body cannot contain. His mother keeps the door closed, afraid neighbors will get angry at the noise.
But inside that home, another crisis is happening.
Theo is severely underweight.
Because of extreme poverty, the foods they can afford are often instant noodles, canned food, bread, and biscuits. When Theo refuses home-cooked food, his mother buys noodles just so he will eat something.
Two brothers.
Two fragile children.
One mother trying to keep both of them safe.
Their father earns only about $240 a month, and it is not enough to cover Caleb’s medical supplies, Theo’s nutrition, hygiene needs, vitamins, and daily essentials.
This fundraiser is for Caleb and Theo’s urgent basic needs, medical supplies, nutrition, milk, vitamins, hygiene supplies, and essential daily care.
Please donate today to help these two brothers get the support they need. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing their story can help it reach someone who can.
Don’t let this family fight alone.
