Children in the Philippines living in extreme poverty struggle to access basic necessities. Many families simply can’t afford food, water, or medical care.
When Kurt was born, his parents dreamed of watching him sit, crawl, and grow strong.
But today, at 7 months old, he still can’t sit up or roll over.
Kurt has hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid to build up in the brain.
Since April, his head has grown from 19.3 in to 20 in, putting dangerous pressure on his brain and delaying his development.
An MRI was ordered, but his family couldn’t afford it. They didn’t even have enough for the bus fare to the hospital.
Kurt weighs just 17.8 lbs and eats Cerelac and biscuits when his family can afford them.
His father is a fisherman whose income depends on the weather. When the sea is rough, they earn nothing.
His mother stays home to care for him full-time.
Right now, they’re struggling to provide even the basics:
Formula, diapers, baby food, and vitamins.
“We try to provide what we can,” his mom says, “but life is really hard.”
Kurt has already endured so much, but with your help, he doesn’t have to face it alone.
Your donation today can help Kurt stay nourished, stable, and strong.
Let’s give Kurt the chance to grow.
