For over a decade, the Vancouver Avian Research Centre has been working hard to ensure the survival of wild birds and their habitat through Research, Conservation and Education.
If you've ever wondered about the bird boxes you see outside town, they are part of a project run by the Vancouver Avian Research Centre and incredible local volunteers!
Since 1970, 2.9 Billion birds have disappeared in North America alone. Habitat loss, pollution, cats, window strikes, and more are taking a devastating toll on our birds, including Bluebirds.
The Merritt Bluebird Nest Box Project is one way everyone can help our remaining birds. Over 400 boxes in the community now offer nest sites to Western Bluebirds, Mountain Bluebirds, Swallows and other local species. Adding to that number and maintaining the existing boxes is vital to their continued survival.
But we can't do it alone! Please help the Merritt Bluebird Project continue and grow by donating today! 100% of all funds go to managing the project and purchasing supplies.
WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN CONTINUE THIS VITAL CONSERVATION PROJECT
