When you become a member, you contribute to Chestnut Hill's most vibrant and essential community center. The Chestnut Hill Library is an asset to patrons across Philadelphia and serves neighboring communities through after-school services, school partnerships, and unique programs. We are a community of book lovers and literacy advocates, all dedicated to supporting the public library.


Our annual membership program is designed to reward book lovers. Your membership helps ensure that we are able to sustain our programs and support accessible, community-based library services. In 2022, Friends donations have supported children's author visits, funded repairs at the library, sponsored work opportunities for Teen Library Assistants, and supplemented the collections' budget to keep relevant, new books on our library shelves. 


Annual membership runs December 1, 2022 through November 30, 2023. In an effort to conserve resources, you will not receive a membership card in the mail. You will receive membership confirmation via email and your membership is considered valid once you complete the transaction.

 

Friends Membership Levels:

* Bookworm ($10-100) (recommended $30)

* Avid Reader ($100-250)

* Bibliophile ($250-$500)

* Bibliomaniac ($500+)



Book Worm (Starter Level - $10 and up to $100) (recommended $30+)

  • One free book OR game/puzzle from Hilltop Books
  • Admission to members-only sale previews and special events 
  • E-newsletter including event and sales information
      

Avid Reader (Individual Level - $100 annual) 

  • One free book OR game/puzzle from Hilltop Books
  • Admission to members-only sale previews and special events
  • 10% discount on all purchases at The Book Corner (311 N. 20th St)
  • E-newsletter including event and sales information

 

Bibliophile (4 Person Household Level - $250 annual) *

  • Five free books and/or puzzles from Hilltop Books for members of the same Bibliophile account (5 free books/membership account)
  • Admission to members-only sale previews and special events
  • 15% discount on space rental for a private event
  • 10% discount on all purchases at The Book Corner (311 N. 20th St)
  • Insertion of a Friends of the Chestnut Hill Library bookplate in a library book
  • E-newsletter including event and sales information

 

Bibliomaniac (6 Person Super Donor Level - $500+ annual) *

  • Eight free books from Hilltop Books for members of the same Bibliomaniac account (8 free books/membership account)
  • Free book with every purchase at Hilltop Books (up to $10 value)
  • 20% discount on space rental for a private event 
  • Admission to members-only sale previews and special events
  • 10% discount on all purchases at The Book Corner (311 N. 20th St)
  • Insertion of a Friends of the Chestnut Hill Library bookplate in a library book
  • E-newsletter including event and sales information
