In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Danichka was born prematurely, at 28 weeks of pregnancy, weighing 1100 g, the first of twins, the younger son died on the 4th day, and Danichka fought for 2 weeks in intensive care, then neonatology. The first year of life was spent completely on medical treatment and massages. At 11 months, we were diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since then, we constantly travel to the rehabilitation centers of Ukraine. From 2 years, on a regular basis, we go to the rehabilitation center in our city. Danichka, loves to practice, knows numbers up to 10, vowels, distinguishes colors, etc. Although we have a severe form of cerebral palsy (Danichka does not hold his head up, does not sit independently, does not stand, does not walk) he is an active boy, loves communication, always wants to be among people. We do not have much money. We really need help in the form of diapers and wet wipes."
Can you help us purchase diapers and wipes for Danya for the next three months?
