Maya's Hope: Shunt for a Baby with Post-Meningitic Hydrocephalus

In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

"Andrey was born in December 2020. On the night of December 28-29, the child became ill, breathing became more rapid, there was a decreased consciousness. After the arrival of the ambulance, he was hospitalized, where he was given IVs. But his condition did not improve, so the ambulance was called from the regional children's hospital, after which he was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit.  After all the tests, he was diagnosed with sepsis and meningitis. He spent 18 days in intensive care, 7 of them in a coma. On January 15, he was transferred to the diagnostic department, where the treatment was continued, he was on the mend, but the indicators were not stable, after another puncture, the attending physician prescribed an MRI and hydrocephalus was found."

Baby Andrey now needs surgery to place a shunt. Can you help us raise the funds to purchase a shunt for Andrey?
