In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Good day. We turn to you for help. Olya can't do without medicine. For five months, the child has been taking Rispetril 2ml twice a day and Depakine 3ml syrup three times a day. We no longer have enough money to buy medicines.
And from these drugs, Olya improved, she became calmer and more active. But during treatment in Kyiv, Olya was diagnosed with Cataract of left eye. Additional examinations show that surgery is required. There are two disabled people in our family and we can't cope alone.
My daughter's treatment is very important for me, but I can't go to work because I have been disabled since childhood.
Please help us to buy medicines, diapers and pay for the tests needed before surgery."
Maya’s Hope helps disadvantaged children living in poverty and helps provide hope by instilling value and purpose in each child. We are celebrating 10 years of bringing hope to children around the world.
