Maya's Hope: Formula, Diapers and Meds for a Girl with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy

In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

"My name is Anya, I am the mother of a child with a disability. Karina, one of my daughters, suffered during childbirth, due to the negligence of doctors, the maternity hospital was infected with staphylococcus, after sepsis and suffered a severe form of meningitis, then formed hydrocephalus. Karina shunt underwent 6 surgeries, on the brain, during the sixth operation, something went wrong and Karyusha paralyzed her larynx, she was almost a year old at the time. Since then, Karina has eaten in part through a feeding tube, frequent epileptic seizures and terrible muscle spasticity, headaches every day. Karina's brain has been damaged so much that today she is 9 years old, she does not sit by herself, does not hold her head, does not eat properly, and her vision has almost no optic nerve atrophy. Karina constantly needs hygiene products (since she is completely lying down). Karina is fed through the feeding tube and partially eats thick food, as she is underweight so needs additional nutrition.

My baby needs your help! My minor children Nastya, 15 years old, Mark, 12 years old, live with me in addition to Karyusha, our special girl. As a single mother, it is very difficult for me to fully provide for a child with a disability. I have no opportunity to work, nobody agrees to babysit such a child, they are afraid. Karyusha has not been feeling well lately, but we try to live and fight every day for every breath of air. I thank the Lord every day for not taking my daughter away from me. Karina enjoys life and when she is not tormented by terrible epileptic seizures and headaches, she smiles and even tries to say something, Karina wants to live. She just needs my help and good people who care about the fate of a little girl."

We are raising funds to purchase diapers, medicines and formula for Karina. Can you help?
