In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Katya is a very long-awaited child. At birth, the child was pulled by the head and the brain did not receive oxygen in time. From birth we have a developmental delay, and in 3 months the worst began - seizures, which ended in resuscitation. Until the age of 2, we almost lived in the hospital. Every year our disease progresses. Katya speaks poorly, does not walk without support and always needs expensive treatment. Our family has been fighting for the health of a little girl every day for 9 years. We won't give up, but we need help."
Katya and her family live in a war-torn region of Ukraine and receive no government assistance. The family recently had COVID. They had to purchase medicines for all of the family and expenses are tight. Katya is in need of formula and diapers. Can you help?
Maya’s Hope helps disadvantaged children living in poverty and helps provide hope by instilling value and purpose in each child. We are celebrating 10 years of bringing hope to children around the world.
