In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

Nazar is 7 years old and has cerebral palsy. He lives with his parents in rural Ukraine. His father is unable to work after an accident which damaged his leg, which puts a huge financial strain on the family. Nazar needs formula which his family is unable to afford. He needs it to gain weight. At 6 years old he weighed less than 30 pounds. Maya's Hope has been providing him with formula (and diapers) for several months. In this time he has gained weight and is thriving. 


We are now raising funds to provide Nazar with formula and diapers for the next 3 months so he can continue to thrive. Want to join us?
