Maya's Hope: Eye Surgery for a Little Girl

In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

"Hello! I appeal to all concerned people to help raise funds for the operation for my daughter. Diana was born by caesarean section at Kyiv Perinatal Center. She was the first born of twins, at 25 weeks gestation. For a long time, doctors fought for the lives of the twins: two months they were on a ventilator, two months in the second stage of care.

After staying at home for one month, her condition deteriorated sharply. The fever rose, diarrhea began, red, inflammatory intrafiltrates went on the girl's body. And one of them appeared in the eye, as a result of which the tear duct was damaged during inflammation.

Now the child has a tear constantly running down her cheek. To cure this, she needs an operation immediately on her tear duct.

It is not possible for our family to buy the items needed for the surgery (a stent and laser probe) on our own, as there are two children with cerebral palsy in the family, the children are constantly ill and need constant care.

I appeal to all, not indifferent people, help to raise funds for treatment."

Can you help little Diana have eye surgery?
