In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Our Nikol is a very active girl. She can’t walk by herself, but she crawls very quickly. We go through 1 or 2 rehabilitations a year, this gives a result in terms of physical development, but unfortunately there is a strong delay in terms of psycho-speech development, Nikol does not speak and she has almost no sounds. She spends a lot of time at home, playing with musical toys. Also, unfortunately, we do not ask for a potty and we have to buy diapers. We kindly ask you to help with personal hygiene products and, if possible, fruit purees. We will be very grateful!"
Can you help us purchase diapers and purees for Nikol for the next three months?
