In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Good day. I am Anna, the mother of Dima, who was born in 2015 at week 27 weeks. He was in a very serious condition, weighing 1230 grams (2.6 pounds). Due to his premature birth he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage resulting in hydrocephalus and cerebralpalsy. He underwent 2 operations (shunting for hydrocephalus and bilateral hernia repair). After 10 months we were discharged home. Now he is 5.5 years old, he does not hold his head up, does not sit, does not crawl, does not walk. But he is a very happy boy. I would like to ask you for help, Dima really needs diapers and wipes. He only eats pureed food. I'm a single mom. I have simply exhausted all my material strengths. I ask you very much for help. Thank you."
Can you help us purchase diapers, wipes and meds for Dima?
