Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Crystal Anne is a little over one year old. Crystal Anne was born with a Meningoencephalocele and Hydrocephalus. (Meningoencephalocele is a type of encephalocele, which is an abnormal sac of fluid, brain tissue, and meninges (membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord) that extends through a defect in the skull.) She was constantly in pain and distress. Her mother had never seen her smile.
In August 2020, Maya’s Hope funded surgery to repair her myelomeningocele. The surgery was a success! Crystal Anne is recovering well and her mother was able to see her daughter smiling for the first time.
We want to ensure Crystal Anne continues to recover and thrive so we want to be able to provide her with essentials like formula, nutrition and diapers. Can you help?
