Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life. 

Baby Merrilla is 9 months old and was born with several congenital defects. Hydrocephalus, myelomeningocele and liver and kidney enlargement. She successfully had a shunt placed for her hydrocephalus after being in hospital for 8 weeks and has been sent home to recover while she waits for surgery to repair her myelomeningocele. Her father sent us a message - "I'm asking for a little help for my childs needs. I don't have work due to the pandemic and I'm the one at the hospital with my daughter because my wife got sick. We don't have enough money so I come to you and your good heart. I hope you can help my child. I hope you can help us. Thank you."
