Yashmin, an adorable one-year-old, was born prematurely, has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, and has undergone major surgeries for both.
Since her surgeries, she developed seizures, respiratory issues, is developmentally delayed and gets sick often. Yashmin’s spina bifida has made it very hard for her to move certain parts of her body and her skin is so sensitive that she gets terrible diaper rash that needs prescription ointment to treat.
Yashmin lives with her parents and 4 siblings in a very crowded space without running water. Her father is a construction worker who earns about $117 US Dollars a month. Yashmin’s mother earns about $58 US Dollars per month doing laundry to try to help provide for their family. Each month they struggle to buy basic items like milk and diapers, and sometimes must borrow money just to be able to eat. Yashmin needs nutritious food to help her stay healthy and expensive medication for her serious medical problems.
Can you help us provide little Yashmin with the essentials they cannot afford such as formula, anti-seizure medications, diapers and more?
Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
