In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Nika was born in 2016. Due to a medical error, because no caesarean section was performed, there was a double entanglement with a shortened umbilical cord and the child suffered severe asphyxia, then resuscitation, intensive care, massages, medical treatment, planned hospitalizations, classes at home with specialists and constant rehabilitation. At the age of 2 she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. I am raising my daughter alone, I did not give up and I know that my little girl will overcome everything and will live a full life. Nika is on a gluten-free casein-free diet. These products are quite expensive and very necessary for the full life of my daughter. Doctors and rehabilitators give us good forecasts and say that in our situation is really a "miracle of God", and Nika is a real fighter and has every chance to live a full life. I call her "Little Mother's Victory". I hope you can help us."
