Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Baby Rai is one year old and was born with hydrocephalus. His mother works as a service crew at a popular fast-food chain and earns around $140 a month. His father has been separated from them and provides support occasionally. They currently live together with their other family members, making 3 families live in one house. Although his uncle also works and earns around $140, two working adults could not properly support 3 families’ basic necessities. Their other family members are unable to find jobs due to the ongoing pandemic. Thus, they are unable to supply Rai’s basic needs. Maya's Hope funded Rai's life-saving shunt insertion surgery thanks to sponsors of Maya's Hope. Rai has been thriving through the continued support of the generous sponsors from Maya’s Hope. However, their financial situation has not improved and they are still in debt due to months of unpaid bills. Rai still needs your help. His mother said, “After Rai’s surgery, I see he have big improvement he plays, he sucks her fingernail he smiles, he cries loud and his eyes have pupil before his eyes all white”.
Can you help raise the funds for formula, vitamins, diapers, wipes, and more for Rai?
