It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Breanna.
After a brave battle together with her mother at the hospital, baby Breanna was taken off her ventilator shortly after Christmas. She passed away, peacefully in sleep, shortly thereafter.
Thank you to everyone who came together to give Breanna the best chance possible, and to everyone who supported her through donations or prayers.
The operation for her encephalocele was an emergency surgery. Very little manipulation was done to the herniated brain tissue and only the cystic part of the encephalocele was removed. Doctors
were satisfied with the immediate outcome of the surgery, and thanks to donors at Maya's Hope who supported Breanna's campaign, Breanna received the best possible pre and post-operative medical care.
Unfortunately, after an initial improvement and despite the best efforts of her doctors, Breanna’s condition worsened. She was not able to pull through.
On behalf of the entire Maya’s Hope team, surgical committee, fieldworkers, partners, and medical staff, we wish to extend our deepest condolences to Breanna’s family.
We carry the sadness of her passing in our hearts forevermore.
R.I.P baby Breanna.
Breanna’s mother shared this with us and all of you:
"Hello Maya's Hope. Hi Ma'am Maya. Thank you so much for all the help you did for Baby Breanna till he end. You never forsaken her till the end I'm so thankful to all the helped my child. Maya's Hope foundation, my wish is Maya's Hope foundation will grow and last a long time and you'll be able to help more kids in need just like you did to my child. Thank you, God bless to all."
Hi all-
Breanna is currently at home. Maya's Hope has provided oxygen and supplies for her. Doctors still would like her to put on weight before surgery. It's been up and down with this sweet little one, but she's a fighter.
Doctors hope to do surgery in January, but if possible, we will do it as soon as it is medically possible.
Thank you all!
