Manton Parks, a 501c3 nonprofit public benefit co
Help our Town restore its Community Center!

Please help us fund our Year One operations and match a $5000 contribution challenge from anonymous donors by May 15!

Manton Parks was founded by concerned neighbors with the express goal of purchasing and then transforming the town's shuttered 100-year old school into a Community Center for everyone to enjoy. We support the continuation of current nonprofit activities at the campus including: Manton Education Council's after-school tutoring; securing a permanent home for the 30-year Manton Apple Festival; and restoration of the Manton Historical Museum. In addition, we intend to improve the curriculum library with high-speed wifi, develop a community sculpture garden in collaboration with accomplished artists, and expand our event calendar in partnership with other nonprofits, businesses, and individuals. We have also been holding open public meetings every month to better understand how the campus can serve the needs of the local community.

Funds raised in this 2022 spring campaign drive will be used expressly for Year 1 operations (2022-2023) which include an Expanded Event Calendar, Groundskeeping, Utilities and Urgent Improvements to Infrastructure.

Funds for the purchase of the old school have already been secured by generous local donors but the running costs will be the responsibility of the collective community and that is why we are making this push now. We look forward to hosting you in our beautiful little town and engaging with caring citizens.

A Little Background
The Antelope Elementary district took over ownership of the Manton school & all the property and water rights in 2013. The district has since closed the campus, and are now busing our 40 public school children out of town for education. Currently, our town has 86 children, of which roughly half are homeschooled. Recently, we have increased our child count to 97 with new families moving to Manton who were displaced by the Carr & Camp fires. We conducted an informal census in 2018, and we are undergoing another census currently.
