But where does hope come from when life gives us every reason to lose it?
Following in the footsteps of Angst, LIKE, The Upstanders, and Race to Be Human comes HOPE, the fifth installment in our documentary film series exploring mental health and human connection.
After experiencing tremendous personal loss, I was asked to make a film about grief and loss. I struggled with that idea because I was still finding my own way through it. Somewhere along the way, I realized the film I needed to make wasn't about grief.
It was about hope.
Not the kind that pretends everything is okay. The kind that helps us get up in the morning, reach for one another, and find a way forward.
Through powerful human stories, accessible brain science, and practical tools, HOPE explores how we build hope in ourselves and each other, even through grief, uncertainty, and life's hardest moments.
At its heart is human connection.
Beyond the Film
Our initial goal is to raise $100,000 to bring HOPE to life.
Additional funding will support the development of the HOPE Learning & Engagement Toolkit, with research-informed activities, guided conversations, learning bursts, games, and practical tools. It will also help provide free access for schools and underserved communities.
