Goal
Dear Friends,
I’ve been serving with Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) since 2016 and I care deeply about the wellbeing of elderly New Yorkers affected by loneliness and isolation.
Growing old is tough, and we all need a circle of friends to weather the storms of life.
In the past 7 years, I have witnessed the devastating effects of prolonged isolation and its negative impact on your health. I have also witnessed how lasting intergenerational friendships add joy, hope and purpose in the lives of older adults affected by chronic illnesses.
Human connections are essential. We all have a longing for true friendships, to belong, to be heard and to be loved.
This August, I am joining others across the LBFE network in a campaign called Make an Old Friend for Life! I am asking those who believe in our work to invest in it with a gift. For this summer campaign, I’ve set a personal goal of raising $1,000 before the end of the summer.
I believe that every older New Yorker is worthy to be remembered, heard and loved. There is also so much we learn about life when we spend time with those who have grown older and wiser.
Will you support this campaign, share it, and help me build an intergenerational community rooted in friendship and love?
Thank you,
Jérôme
