The social project LUZ NO HORIZONTE (Light out on the horizon) has been carried out since December/2020 in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, municipality of Pacajus (about 50km away) in the state of Ceará, one of Brazils poorest regions. Every Saturday meals are being delivered to the families in need and a monthly action is carried out, including the delivery of food baskets among other donations.

We are a group of 19 volunteers serving about 75 families (about 130 people including adults and children), who live and work on the trash dump under precarious conditions. They sell the recycling materials they can find in the trash once a week to a recycling company, this way making a small income and trying to survive under those terrible conditions.
The social project has monthly costs for 75 food baskets (equivalent to BRL: 4,000.00/month) in addition to the weekly delivery of a warm meal (equivalent to BRL:700.00/month), costs for equipment, logistics, fuel, water and others items that are delivered to families such as personal protective equipment, hygiene items, socks, clothing, shoes, bedding, epi's, gloves, masks, wellies for work on the dump, among other utensils, totaling an average cost of BRL 2,000.00.
We thank you deeply in advance and would love to count on your support.
We are always available for further information/ questions and open for new ideas and support in any way shape or form.
