LUOSKO German Shepherd Dog Rescue is a small independent charity set up to responsibly rescue, rehabilitate and re-home German Shepherds who find themselves in difficult situations.
Volunteer led and funded almost entirely by public donations, on average we need £10,000 per month to happily keep our centre running and to look after the dogs. Each month we try to raise at least half of this via our general rescue fund.
we normally re-home around 200+ dogs each year. At any one time we have around 50 dogs in our care, in our center in Cheadle, foster homes or in holding kennels awaiting suitable foster or adoption homes. We operate on a national basis so our dogs can be homed in most areas throughout the UK.
As part of our responsible re-homing process we try to match our dogs to potential families, we normally organise several face to face meetings and home visits before dogs go to their final adoption, which has significantly reduced the amount of dogs coming back into rescue and increased our successful adoptions creating extremely happy families.
Your amazing donations help us provide life changing care and forever homes for our furry friends and will mean that we have available funds that will help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the dogs currently in our care and those still to come into our care. The funds will be used for things like veterinary care, food, enrichment etc as well as going towards every day running costs of our rescue centre.
To give you an idea of our costs, general bills like electric & gas can top a staggering £2,500 per month, Vet bills can be as much as £5,000 plus per month and our average food bill alone can be a whopping £2,500 per month!
Even the smallest of donations, made on a regular basis can make the most significant difference.
