Lucy is a beautiful and intelligent Berkshire/Tamsworth pig. She was born
in April, 2019, the runt of her litter of 12 piglets. Her size was what saved
her. People who were selecting pigs for October ham and bacon, did not
want her. Lucy arrived at the Little Red Barn along with her brother as our
official first residents. She weighed about 15#’s and was adorable. Today,
Lucy is a delicate 375#’s and is just as beautiful and curious as ever! She
loves to play with her brother George, and together they keep the other
residents entertained with their cheeky, playful attitude. In the summer she
loves to make her own mud bath to keep cool. Her favorite foods are
watermelon, bananas, spinach, lettuce, apples, pumpkins and the
occasional cookie. Pigs are extremely intelligent and clean. As such, they
are easily house trained and come into our house freely. Lucy enjoys
making fresh straw beds, rooting in the ground, and free-range living. Lucy
lives the life all pigs deserve to live.
