Lost Worlds Institute, a student-led non-profit that works on preserving languages through scholarly documentation, research, & work with professors, is organizing a conference about linguistics, endangered languages, and language preservation for anyone to attend to be held on April 25th, 2026 in Boston, MA.

There will be keynote presentations given by experienced professors from Harvard, BU, and other universities; students from the organization will also present their research; and every attendee is invited to contribute to The Care Lab where you can learn how to transcribe audio of an endangered language and will get to work on transcription and matching activities! Lunch will be provided.

With your help, we hope to feature Native groups to display their experiences with their language (this is tentative and depends on availability).

We need your help to make this conference happen! Your support Below is listed the ways in which we will use your funding (ranked highest to lowest based on estimated cost):

1. Venue Rental ($3,000+)

2. Transportation, Accommodation, Flights ($2,000-3,000)

3. Per-diems, Speaker Compensation, etc. ($2,000)

4. Catering ($1,000)

5. Merch ($500+)

6. Marketing ($500+)

We will also donate a part of your funds to Native communities and their language reclamation programs! If you donate and share this campaign with a friend, we can give you both a FREE ticket to the event!
